BIRTH
George Reid was married in 1792 and spent much of his life in Skene, so may have been born there around 1770. There is a suitable baptism in the Skene parish register:
7Jul1772 Thomas Reid in Ord and his wife Jean Abel had a son baptized named George before the congregation
Although George did not name any of his known children Thomas, the fact that Thomas was in the hamlet of Ord, where George also spent most of his life, suggests this is the correct baptism
MARRIAGE
Elizabeth was bptized in 1793 in Aberdeen, daughter of George Reid and Margaret Smith. There is a suitable marriage some 6 months earlier in the parish of Skene, about 6 miles west of Aberdeen:
26Sep1792 Geo Reid & Margt Smith both in this parish were proclaimed
